Fiber optics for FTTH (fiber to the home).

The construction of a fiber optic network in the Netherlands and Belgium provides unlimited bandwidth possibilities. In the coming years, both countries will be increasingly glazed and fiber will gradually replace the current physical infrastructure. The quality and durability of the products in a fiber optic network are of great importance, as these types of products will soon have to remain in the ground for decades. Maunt supplies all components for the construction of a fiber optic network, and we can also take the warehouse management out of your hands.

Fiber optic cables

There are different types of fiber optic cables on the market. Examples include DAC cables, distribution cables and microduct cables, such as the 96-fold cable. These cables can be divided into two groups: variants that can go directly into the ground and variants that are laid or blown into a tube. The fiber optic cables Maunt supplies are of the STL (Sterlite) brand.

Welding sleeves

A fiber optic enclosure, also called DP or distribution point, is used to connect different fiber optic cables together between the POP and the home. These different cables are connected together underground in the fiber optic enclosure and thus act as a kind of capstone between all cables. Maunt supplies splice sockets of the Optotec brand.

ODF systems

ODF systems are mounted at the beginning of a fiber optic network. These 19-inch components are found in the POP of the FTTH network. From this central unit in the neighborhood, the fiber optic cables go to the various distribution points, from where they go to the homes. The ODF fiber optic trays have a high density of connections and come in left- and right-handed versions. The ODF systems supplied by Maunt are from the Warren&Brown brand.

Multiduct

The multiduct tube is a composition of several smaller thick-walled tubes wrapped in a PE jacket. The tubes are laid empty in the ground (DB, direct buried) and are directly usable for blowing in fiber optic cables. The tubes have a service life of up to 50 years.

Connectors ducts

Connectors are commonly used components in the construction of an FTTH network. Connectors are used to properly connect and/or terminate the tubes in the multiducts. For example, these connectors also ensure that cables are terminated safely, watertight and gas-tight. Maunt offers a wide range of connectors. These include straight, end, gas block and divisible connectors.

Ordinary ducts

When building a fiber optic network, you will have to deal with certain routes. These routes can be bores under roads, garden bores, entries at houses, ordinary routes and under the sidewalk. Quality and durability is key, especially when it comes to protecting the cables. In Maunt's range you will find HDPE pipes as well as PE flex pipes (also called ribbed pipe). In addition, regular PVC or HDPE pipe (also called garden bore pipe) can also be found in the webshop.

Accessories

To build an FTTH network, you need a lot of accessories in addition to all the fixed materials. The accessories used in the construction of a fiber optic network serve such purposes as protection, signaling or finishing. Examples include sealing caps, warning tape, cable ties (tie wraps) and Velcro. All accessories for finishing, processing and installing a network can be found in Maunt's webshop.
