Fujikura's Fusion splicer 45S is suitable for fiberglass splicing. The small but powerful fusion welding machine reduces operational cycle time by 30%, compared to its predecessor. With its pioneering features for simultaneous fiber preparation, improved operation and exceptional reliability, the 45S is the latest fusion welding machine that sets a new standard for FTTx cladding alignment welding machines. Simultaneous fiber preparation streamlines the welding process. Double stripping of 250μm fibers is achieved with the SS05 fiber stripper. The CT50 cleaver has a new dual adapter plate that allows simultaneous cleaving of two fibers. Thanks to an inventive mechanism, the 45S makes it quick and easy to load two fibers simultaneously. When the left and right fibers are placed in the base of the auxiliary clamp, the adjustment mechanism responds to the pressure of the operator's fingers and causes the auxiliary clamp lids to close automatically, eliminating the need to close the clamps manually with the free hand. The 45S heater also contributes to the accelerated performance. The average heating time for a 60 mm sleeve is 22 seconds, a figure that drops to 17 seconds for a sleeve thinner than 60 mm (both times depend on environmental conditions). The end result for the user is clear: completion of welding with unmatched efficiency. The battery has a long life, guaranteeing uninterrupted operation for up to 230 splicing and heating cycles.
