Cleaver CT-116, Fujikura
The Fujikura CT-116 is widely used in fiber preparation for the fusion splicing of standard data communication fibers, large-diameter octagonal or round fibers (LDF), polarization-containing fibers, photonic crystal fibers and even for the production of components with capillary tubes, bulb lenses, end caps and more. The CT-116 is designed for cleaving glass fibers with cladding diameters between 80 and 1250 μm. The CT-116 features automatic fiber clamping, backstop adjustment and blade position change. The CT-116 has an angle cleave function, which allows it to cleave up to 15 degrees. Also, the CT-116 has an RFID tag attached to the fiber holder. This RFID tag allows the user to link a fiber holder to a cleave mode. In this menu, each fiber holder has a unique RFID and user-defined name for easily setting combinations of fiber holder and cleave mode. The CT-116 uses the links in this menu to automatically change the cleave mode based on the fiber holder recognized by the cleave machine's RFID sensor. This can be used as process control or to help optimize cleaving.
