This DAC cable is used in situations where the FTTH distribution point (DP) is located outdoors in the ground, and the cable runs, for example, from outside through an indoor route to the home connection. In this situation, you must always use a cable with at least fire class Dca and smoke class s2. In practice, this method is also referred to as “running through the building.” The cables used—with fire class Dca—are laid in the ground without protection and must therefore be suitable for this purpose.
