These heat-shrink splice protectors are used to provide hermetic protection for the fusion splice. Once the splicing is completed, the splice protector is slid over the spliced section of the fiber-optic cable and placed in the oven. There, the splice protector melts, providing optimal and hermetic protection for the spliced section. These shrink sleeves fit into the ANT splice holder, allowing 24 splices to fit in the same holder. This doubles the capacity. The MMK-30 has a shrink time of 3 seconds and is also available in other lengths.
