Maunt supports NLconnect in sustainability project

NLconnect will create calculation rules to gain insight into the sustainability and circularity of fiber optic materials and components in the FTTH market. These calculation rules, also called Product Category Rules (PCR), will be drawn up by a working group of several companies. These are ADVA, Amadys, Attema, BAM Telecom, Eurofiber, Genexis, Glaspoort, Maunt, Netways Europe, Prysmian Group, TKF, T-Mobile and TriNed.

Standardized ecopassport

NLconnect started this project, in cooperation with Eurofiber. Earlier they started a pilot of an EPD. An EPD is a standardized eco-passport. To create this passport, it is necessary to properly set up the PCR calculation rules. This is because these are applied to the data from the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This ensures that manufacturers, purchasers, contractors and governments have a good understanding of the environmental impact of the materials they use in the construction of a fiber optic network.
